Cancelled plans and postponed flights are a common occurrence among travelers these days – Blame the Coronavirus! While all airlines are striving to sustain in this tough time, a few have actually made a mark by updating their policies in favor of the current situations. AirBaltic , the flag carrier of Latvia, recently updated their ticket change policy, thereby allowing passengers to change their travelling dates for free.

AirBaltic CEO, Martin Gauss stated:

‘We clearly see passengers are willing to travel and plan their late spring and summer holidays. This step provides flexibility to our passengers, so that they can book their next trip with ease.’

The current offer is valid for all new AirBaltic reservations made between March 10-31, 2020. Customers can rebook their tickets free of charge to a new date by December 31, 2020. Only one date change is permitted under this program. This is applicable for existing reservations made prior to March 10, with travel dates till March 31.

While this change is policy is a great step in favor of tackling the current deterrents in travel and aviation industry, AirBaltic has certainly won hearts of many by allowing them the added flexibility to change their travel plans without paying extra! A multitude of carriers have cancelled several flights within Asia and Europe, leading to a havoc among travelers hoping to commute in this period, since ticket cancellations and rescheduling often tend to cost extra. Earlier, this facility required a non-refundable fee of 14.99 EUR.

If you have booked a flight for travelling in this month, we would encourage you to confirm the flight status at the earliest. We hope many more airlines adapt this policy; and more power to AirBaltic!
