Imagine you won the EuroMillions and have €100 million in your bank account. Since you are a fan of Travel Radar, you probably are going to spend a few million on a private jet, or two. It is good to prepare for such an opportunity – after all, you would not want to find yourself in a situation where you are unable to decide which private jet to buy first.
That is where we come to aid. Let’s take a peek inside the paradise of the world’s wealthiest and their private fleet… for inspiration, obviously.
Jeff Bezos – Gulfstream 650ER
The world’s wealthiest billionaire, Jeff Bezos, has it all – including not just one, but two Gulfstream 650ERs.
Bezos, boasting the incredible net worth of $113 billion, is the founder, chairman, president and CEO of Amazon, which allows him to own an aircraft worth up to $75 million… each.
Bill Gates – Bombardier BD-700 Global Express
Second from the top, William Henry Gates III is not only the co-founder of Microsoft. He is also the co-founder and chairman of Cascade Investment, TerraPower, Branded Entertainment Network and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
It is to no surprise then, that the billionaire with a total net worth of $98 billion travels onboard the luxurious Bombardier BD-700 Global Express, worth at least $40 million.
Warren Buffett – NetJets
Warren Buffett does not just own a jet or two – he owns a company with the largest fleet of private jets in the world! NetJets operates over 600 luxurious aircraft, which can take up to 19 passengers on board.
Some of the jets are: Cessna Citation Latitude, Cessna Citation X, Dassault Falcon 2000, Embraer Phenom 300 or Gulfstream G550.
Larry Ellison – MiG-29 and SIAI-Marchetti S.211
Now, Larry Ellison is a completely different type of a billionaire, jet-wise. The co-founder, executive chairman and CTO of Oracle Corporation got himself a few… military jets.
Among Ellison’s fighter jet fleet one can find a MiG-29 and an SIAI-Marchetti S.211. Larry is not allowed to operate the MiG-29 in the United States, though, as it is, sadly, considered to be a weapon.
Some billionaires like their aircraft luxurious, some like it military – and what type of a billionaire would you be?
